Every business is part of a community, and Purolator is no exception. Everywhere throughout the company, our employees contribute to the betterment of the communities where we live and do business, truly embodying Purolator’s corporate value of social responsibility.

Since 2003, we’ve focused our attention and efforts on what we believe is one of the most fundamental and pressing issues facing every community – hunger. We partnered with Food Banks Canada to support and enhance Canada’s National Food Sharing System. By leveraging our expertise in logistics and distribution, we are working with Food Banks Canada to move more food to more people who desperately need it. Through our ability to reach virtually every destination point in Canada, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight to end hunger.

Our affiliation with Food Banks Canada includes our participation in the Purolator Tackle Hunger and thINK FOOD/Phones-for-Food programs.

Purolator Tackle Hunger

Purolator works with the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the collection of non-perishable food items for food banks at CFL games in cities across the country. To encourage fans to make a donation, the Grey Cup is on site at select games, and fans have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Cup in exchange for their donation. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our employees and strong support of our customers, the program has been a tremendous success. thINK FOOD/Phones-for-Food

thINK FOOD/Phones-for-Food is an award-winning, multi-partner, environmental fundraiser for food banks that involves the collection and recycling of used printer cartridges and cell phones. The double impact is meaningful: new resources for alleviating hunger and less waste in landfills. Each item can be worth as much as a jar of peanut butter or a carton of milk. There are thousands of participating collection sites. As the national shipping sponsor of the thINK FOOD/Phones-for-Food program, Purolator picks up, delivers and returns thINK FOOD recycling bins. Since 2003, Purolator has moved more than 337,000 used inkjet cartridges and cell phones. Supporting our local communities

Purolator’s commitment to alleviating hunger has inspired our employees and customers to spearhead their own initiatives to benefit their communities. Employees are reaching out in a variety of ways and showing they care. For example, each winter, Purolator couriers wear their shorts during the Support the Shorts campaign while other employees help to raise awareness about hunger and organize events that result in thousands of pounds of food donated to those in need during critical seasons.
